What is Coaching?

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a form of development in which a coach supports the client to achieve goals and mindset change through ongoing communication.

My coaching practice is centered on the Co-Active Coaching Model.

What is Co-Active Coaching?

Co-Active Coaching is based on the concept of “working together” in which the coach and client work together to cultivate a proactive and effective relationship.

The coach and client engage in open and equal communication that includes honest feedback, guidance and questions on both ends.

At times, a specific question will be explored in conversation. Other times, the approach is to listen to one’s body through physical activity. New discoveries are made through both the mind and body.

Coaching Approach

Step 1: Clarify current situation.

Where are you in your life? How do you feel about it?

Step 2: Visualize desired outcome and self.

What do you really want to do? How would you really like to be?

Step 3: Explore specific steps and methods.

What small steps can you take to begin?

Coaching is not a simple problem-solving process. It is a deep, internal process to evoke transformation from within.

This transformation will gradually touch all areas of the individual's personal and work life.

We value lasting changes in an individual that help to eventually solve problems, and have seen in many cases, that the problems are no longer seen as such.

Coaching is for you if you...

  • Are looking to change but are too busy.
  • Are not seeing results for your efforts.
  • Worry if you are on the right track.
  • Are anxious about your life’s direction.
  • Do not yet know your strengths.
  • Do not know which direction to go.
  • Want to launch a new project or business.

Confidentiality

All coaching sessions will remain confidential between the coach and client, following the ICF Code of Ethics as outlined here.
